A key member of the Vision Care team since 2003, Dr. Bruce received his undergraduate degree in biology from Millikin University and graduated Cum Laude from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. Dr. Bruce provides complete family eye care, including contact lenses and treatment of eye disease with an emphasis in glaucoma. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness, and the Mid-State Optometric Society. Dr. Bruce resides in Rochester with his wife Nikki and their sons Canon, Kai, and Finn.
Dr. Blomberg has been providing complete family eye care at Vision Care since 2006 with an emphasis on diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and conditions resulting in reduced vision. Dr. Blomberg earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Bradley University in 1996 and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Ohio State University in 2000. He then served three years as a captain and optometrist with the United States Army and was deployed with the 101st Airborne Division to Kosovo in 2001 and Iraq in 2003. Dr. Blomberg is an active member of his church as well as several optometric organizations and he has been a part of many medical mission trips.
Joining Vision Care in 2008, Dr. Hill has provided eye care in Springfield for over two decades. He practices full scope optometric care with a special interest in family eye care, including contact lenses, low vision services, and sports vision. Dr. Hill is fully certified in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Ocular medications. He is a 1983 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s of science in biology and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1990. A member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and past President of the Mid-State Optometric Society, Dr. Hill has also conducted optometric mission trips to Haiti and Mexico. Dr. Hill and his wife Shari reside in Springfield with their five children, Sarah, Jonathon, Robby, Maki, and Ruthie.
Dr. Ottino is a Petersburg native who joined Vision Care Associates in 2010. He received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry, graduating cum laude from Knox College in Galesburg, IL. He then earned his doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis in 2003. Before joining Vision Care, Dr. Ottino practiced in the Chicago area for over six years. He provides eye care for the entire family, including contacts and diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, with extensive experience providing pre- and post-operative LASIK and cataract examinations. Dr. Ottino is TPA and DPA certified to provide prescriptions, and is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society.
Dr. Dale spent his formative years in Canada and joined Vision Care in 2015. He is a graduate of the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in Ontario, Canada. Dr. Dale offers complete family eye care including contact lenses as well as treatment and management of eye disease. He has participated in medical mission trips to Ecuador and Jamaica. Dr. Dale is DPA and TPA certified and is a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, Mid-State Optometric Society, and Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. He resides in Litchfield with his wife Donna and their son Kyle.
Dr Karen Rubrich joined Vision Care Associates in January of 2021. Dr. Rubrich, a Chicago native, is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago, and she earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree at Illinois College of Optometry. After graduation, Dr. Rubrich moved to central Illinois, where she has enjoyed many years of providing complete family eyecare to her patients. Over the years, she has participated in optometric mission trips to Costa Rica, Columbia, and most recently, Haiti. Dr. Rubrich is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association.
Dr. Rachel Helgen joined Vision Care Associates in July, 2020. Dr. Helgen, a native of Litchfield, IL, graduated summa cum laude from Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville in 2017 with a degree in Biological Sciences. She earned her Doctorate Degree and graduated with highest honors from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2021. Dr. Helgen provides complete family eye care including fitting contact lenses and treatment of eye diseases, with an emphasis in myopia management and dry eye treatment.
Dr Dennis Rabe joined Vision Care Associates in April of 2022. Dr. Rabe, a native of Southern Illinois, completed his undergraduate work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is a 1987 graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Rabe has provided family eye care to Central Illinois residents for over 35 years, with a special interest in the needs of older patients. He is a past president of the Illinois Optometric Association, 10 year member of the Illinois Optometric Licensing and Disciplinary Committee and has participated in volunteer clinical care in Colombia and Haiti. Dr. Rabe is a member of the Illinois and American Optometric Societies.
Dr Rylee Wildt joined Vision Care Associates in August of 2022. Dr. Wildt is a Central Illinois native and attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for her undergraduate studies. Dr Wildt graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in May 2022. She is excited to return home to Central Illinois to provide routine family eye care with a focus on dry eye treatment, contact lenses, and geriatric exams.
Dr. Waller has been practicing optometry in the central Illinois area since 1998. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Molecular Biology from Northwest Missouri State University in 1994. She attended The University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry and received her Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1998. Dr. Waller provides complete family eye care including fitting contact lenses as well as diagnosis, management, and treatment of ocular disease. Dr. Waller is a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, and Mid-State Optometric Society.
